Lenovo’s ThinkCentre M55 Tower 8811CTO comes standard with a 3.06 CPU, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB hard drive, integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator card and speakers.
We upgraded the base package substantially to build the home computer we reviewed. We included a 250 GB hard drive and a gigabyte of RAM. We also added a 17“ monitor, a DVD burner and a printer. The total package came to $1,158.99.
This would be a suitable computer for a home office. The Celeron D chip will run office and home software smoothly, but it doesn’t compare to the newer dual core chips.
Lenovo offers a good three–year parts and labor warranty and you can contact customer support through phone, email and live chat.
For the price, you can get a much better machine. We would recommend one of the higher–ranked computers like the Gateway or Dell.
